Congregation Council
Churches of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) enjoy a great deal of autonomy in their operations. Individual churches are governed by a Congregation Council elected by the church membership. The council serves as the board of directors for the church. The pastor is the spiritual leader of the church, but the church itself is governed by its members.
Each of the church's operating committees is chaired by a council member. Those committees do the hard work of keeping the church running and on-mission. The council and committees welcome input and invite all interested parties to attend regularly scheduled meetings, which can be found on the church calendar.
